“She had been Anne of nowhere in particular for as long as she could remember. It was a million times nicer to be Anne of Green Gables.” -From Anne Arrives

Anne Arrives by Kallie George

// Book Review //

Thank you to Tundra Books for gifting me this beautiful review copy.

Anne Arrives is the first chapter book in a series written for young readers ages 6-8. Author Kallie George reimagines the beginning of L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables story which follows Anne’s arrival at Green Gables, her unfortunate introduction to Mrs. Rachel Lynde and her acceptance by Matthew and Marilla. Divided into eight chapters covering 63 pages in total, the story adaptation stays true to the Montgomery classic. Although this book in no way replaces the original Montgomery story, it does provide an opportunity for a young reader to experience Anne’s world firsthand in a simpler form. Anne is one of my all-time favorite characters in literature and I love that Anne’s wonderful story can be enjoyed - and read - by all ages!
