Anne of Green Gables is one of my personal all-time favorite stories so I was excited to hear that Tundra Books was publishing a series of books inspired by Anne of Green Gables and written for a younger audience. Goodnight, Anne features our favorite red-haired, spunky girl as she says goodnight to those people and places that are special to her. The sweet text and beautiful illustrations create a perfect bedtime story.
Tara Walker, VP and publisher with Penguin Random House Canada Young Readers explains Tundra’s desire to introduce Anne to a younger generation, “It occurred to us that while most of us had read the Anne books as middle-graders, Anne herself is a character that younger readers would fall in love with too.”
Goodnight, Anne is a gorgeous, 40 page, hardcover book recommended for children (primarily girls) from the ages of 3-7. With that said, I, as an adult reader, would personally enjoy reading this book aloud to the children in my life. You won’t be disappointed to reread this book when your children request it over and over and over again!
